Waste lots of time, but do nothing. Crash many times!!!

Following review is based on the following: OS 10.8.4 Mac Mini - Converting MKV file to iPod Touch format - selecting the English channel to be recorded so the Hindi channel would no longer be available. The conversion took some time. When I played back using QT, wow! The audio was in English, but it was slowwwed down to a long drawl. Anyhow, the VDO quality was good, but trying to select one audio channel over another didnt work.

I cant find any notice that this app requires you to download and install X11. That seems like something that should be mentioned. I havent even tried this app yet, because I gave up and just used Handbrake (which doesnt have a bulk feature), which did what I needed. Please be clear that your app requires other software if that software is not part of the base operating system. Middle rating (Im forced to pick one) because this is to clarify my disappointment with the lack of disclosure by the developer, not an actual review of the apps quality, although if it requires X11, it is probably ugly as hell.

This app was great for awhile, it was simple and easy to use. I loved it until it stopped opening on my mac. I went to open the program one day and cannot get it to open anymore. If it would open and run I would give 5 stars.

apparently you need X11 which is no longer included with OS X Mountain Lion to use this app. Whaterver that means…thanks for nothing.

Why do I need an extra install of X11? Delete

This used to be a great video converter, but lately I’ve been trying to convert .mpg to .mp4 and all it does is cut off the end! It doesn’t convert it completely! Please fix this issue as soon as possible.

Just updated to Yosemite, and this app stopped working. I hope there will be an update that fixes this, because I absolutely love this app and losing it would set me back a lot in my video converting processes.

I had a problem. I was making an app preview video for my App Store app. I have an iPhone 6+, and using it I was able to make 2 of the 3 video previews for my app. A friend has an iPhone 6. I borrowed it and created a preview, and for some reason, the video size was not the output that Apple requires. So, I downloaded this app, imported my iPhone 6 video preview, then clicked the button in the top right to create a custom converter with the appropriate dimensions. The first time through I got the width and height reversed. I opened up my custom converter and reversed the size dimensions to what I needed and saved. I started the conversion and about 10 seconds later I had my app preview created. I am an indie developer and I spent 4 hours recording and re-recording videos yesterday and still could not get the size correct. It took 15 minutes from download of this app to writing this review. Yes this app is a couple years old and yes you have to go to a knowledgebase and install some supporting files but that is not much to do compared to trying to get iMovie or Quicktime Player to output a custom size. This app lets you type in the dimensions yourself (my case 1334x750). Anyway, thank you for a very useful tool that I used for my app QuickSchedule.

This is out dated. In order for the app to work at all it needs something called X11 which is used to convert this app to be able to use on macs. So you need a converter to operate this converter. The second problem with this is that X11 is no longer available and is now called something else and after being redirected I gave up on getting this thing to work. I’m currently using OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 and this app is seriously outdated for my system. If you need a GOOD video converter that’s free try HANDBRAKE. I’m not advertising I’m just letting y’all know

Look elsewhere if you plan on buying any of the in-app purchases here. I bought one and they immediately charged me twice for it. When I contacted their customer support, they told me it wasn’t their fault and to contact Apple support (who obviously woudn’t be responsible for the company charging me twice). Be warned.

THis worked fine after trying 4 other converters. It reduced the size of one noisy file to about 4% of its original size and the playback is comparable.

This app only converts the first 5 min of a video. If you want to do more you need to purchase each module individually ($21.44 each). You”ll need the Ripper, Converter and Creator modules to do a complete Convert, edit and burn of a disc. Once you’ve purchased all those and shut down and restarted the app it works great!!!!

i dont know why ppl rated this app bad, but for me this app is great. after a whole day searching for a software to help me merge subtitles to my video and i was feeling so hopeless because almost every software for Mac you have to buy license for full features, i found this app: work just fine and especially it is free!! it was like a life saver to me lol. thank you for creating this free app!

I had 6 .MTS files that I changed the extension to .m4v and couldn’t change back. All the other converters made the quality horrible or wanted me to pay $60 to buy the software, I only had these 6 videos to convert. So I tired this FREE Converter Video app and converted the .mp4 video- which was VERY slow and choppy BUT I was then able to open this video in iMovie (which I wasn’t able to with the .MTS or .m4v file). So I then exported the .mp4 video from iMovie to a perfect quality .m4v. SUCCESS!

Converted a 5GB raw avi file to a 50MB mp4 file in couple of minutes. Unbelievable! Highly recommended!
